Today was another travel day. We had purchased our ticket to Denizli
the day before and had plenty of time for breakfast and packing before
making the short walk to the bus station.
The bus would take us to Denizli, where we hoped we would find a
dolmuş or shuttle to take us the last 15km to Pamukkale.
The weather had not been good in Pamukkale while we were in Selçuk,
and I was pleased to see that it would be sunny for the next three days
even though the temperature would fall as low as -8°C.
Pamukkale was a bucket list item for Susan, but she probably didn’t
imagine going there during one of Turkey’s harshest winters for decades.
We were crossing our fingers that the whole place would not be buried
under the snow.
Looking out of the bus window as it made its way towards Denizli,
that now seemed unlikely.
